The on again, off again draft status of Nate Davis came to a close during Sunday's second day of the 2009 NFL Draft. All the turmoil and rumors that swirled around the stock market crash-like fall of the stock of the former Ball State QB ended when the San Francisco 49ers selected Davis in the 5th round of the NFL Draft with the 171st overall pick.
Davis, who at one time appeared destined to be a first day commidity, slipped in the eyes of several in the media and some in the league after a less than stellar combine workout that was headlined by a high 4.9 40 time and poor Wunderlic score.
Obviously the 49ers and Head Coach Mike Singletary saw something it liked in Davis who flashed signs incredible talent while setting nearly every single passing record in Ball State University Football history.
