McCord Commits to Cardinals

Ball State pulled a minor coup and received a verbal commitment from one of the top TE prospects in the State of Michigan on Monday. Read on to find out more.

Ball State has been in a bit of a slump recently with getting players from the state of Michigan, but all of that changed on Monday as Warren, MI (Cousino) TE Ben McCord verbally commited to Ball State over offers from Central Michigan and Toledo among others.

McCord, whose brother is an offensive lineman for the Chippewas, camped with Ball State at the Fort Wayne leg of the five 1-day summer camps Ball State put on throughout the state of Indiana this past summer and was easily the best of player the staff evaluated.

The 6-3 225 McCord is looked at as been a great down field threat as a TE and will add a much needed presence to a thin TE corps.

Kurt Mattix, the TE position coach and main recruiter in Michigan for the Ball State coaching staff, helped bring McCord on board.

Stay tuned to as we talk to McCord about his verbal commitment. Recommended Stories
