Ball State names Captains for 2010 season

With less than 2 weeks away from game one of the 2010 Ball State Football season, the Cardinals gathered to vote on team captains last night selecting 2 players from each side of the ball.

Ball State named its team captains for the 2010 football season Sunday night.

Per Offensive Line Coach Jason Eck's Twitter page, the players selected RB MiQuale Lewis, S Sean Baker, LB Davyd Jones and OG Michael Switzer. Quale, who returns for his 5th season after being granted an extra year by the NCAA, stands a little over 600 yards from becoming Ball State's all-time leading rusher.

Baker, a Jr. and former All-Mid American Conference pick and Freshman All-American, is expected to be leader of the defense and is a coach on the field.

Jones, a 4th-year Sr., is a 3rd year starter at LB and has moved perminately to OLB for the Cardinals after playing MIKE his first 2 seasons and part of last year.

Switzer, also a Sr., is back for his 4th season as a starter on the offensive line and is the anchor of the interior line for the Cardinals starting at Left Guard.

The Cardinals open their 2010 campaign next Thursday (Sept. 2) night at home against Southeast Missouri State. Recommended Stories
