The Muncie Star Press reported this morning that former Delta High School QB Brooks Medaris will join the Ball State football program as a preferred walk on for the 2009 season.

Brooks Medaris will becomes the newest addition to the Ball State Football program for next season.

The local standout QB accepted a walk on spot with the Cardinals with hopes of making an impact on the Ball State program.

"It' always been a dream to get to the Division I level, and when I got the opportunity it was something I didn't want to pass up," Medaris told The Star Press.

Medaris, who stands 6-0 190, has a great senior campaign for the school on the outskirts of Muncie, IN. He threw 2,266 yards and 26 touchdowns passes, with just two interceptions to help lead Delta to a 12-1 record and a sectional championship.

Medaris had reported offers from Division III schools Mount Union College, Ohio Northern University, Franklin College and Manchester College.

Medaris joins fellow reported walk on candidates Jamil Smith of Muncie South (a 5-6 140 WR/DB) and Harold Hogue (a 6-2 250 DT) from Indianapolis Cathedral on the 2009 roster.
