Head Coach Brady Hoke announces to team he will be accepting the head coach position at San Diego State.

Ball State head coach Brady Hoke has announced to his team that he will be accepting the head coaching job at San Diego State University, sources at a Monday team meeting have said. The San Diego State Aztecs, who finished 2008 at 2-10, fired head coach Chuck Long after three seasons with the school.

Hoke, who had finished the season 12-1 at Ball State, was in contact with several schools regarding vacancies, including San Diego State and Auburn. In taking over the Aztecs, Hoke remains the coach of a non-BCS program.

No official announcement has been made from either Ball State or San Diego State, but multiple news outlets were reporting the story as early as Sunday morning.

Hoke has compiled a 34-38 record in 6 seasons at Ball State, his alma mater.
