Fresh off of a 23 point victory over Western Michigan on Tuesday, Ball State Senior DB Trey Lewis was selected as the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week.

Trey Lewis (Raleigh, N.C./Ravenscroft H.S.), a senior defensive back on the Ball State University football team, has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Cardinals 45-22 win over Western Michigan last week.

The victory completed Ball State’s regular season at 12-0 overall and 8-0 in the MAC. With the win, Ball State clinched the MAC West Division Championship and will face East Division Champion Buffalo in the MAC Championship Game Friday at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., at 8 p.m.

Lewis returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown and tallied his first sack of the season in the victory. He also led the Cardinals with 11 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss.

This marked the first time in his career he has received the weekly honor from the conference office.
