Fresh off a 3 punt return for 90 yard performance, Ball Stat's BJ Hill was named the Mid American Conference's West Division Special Teams player of the week.

B.J. Hill (Lanham, Md./Riverdale Baptist H.S.), a senior member of the Ball State University football team, has been named the Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week.

Hill returned three punts for 90 yards, including a career-long 72-yard return in the second quarter, which set up a two-yard TD run for the Cardinals and gave Ball State a 28-0 lead en route to a 48-14 win over Northeastern in the season opener.

This marks the second time in Hill’s career he has received the weekly honor from the conference office. He was also named MAC Special Teams Player of the Week one time as a freshman in 2005. Ball State (1-0) will host Navy Friday at 7 p.m. at Scheumann Stadium in a game nationally televised by ESPN.
