One of Florida's top ATH prospects picks up his first offer from a Mid American Conference school.

Despite throwing for almost 2,000 yards and 18 tds (to just 5 INTs), Jacksonville First Coast ATH/QB Derald Jones recently picked up his first offer from Ball State - who, according to First Coast Head Coach Martin Lee, is being recruited as a WR.

"He plays DB & QB for us," Lee said. "He also will be running back punts and kickoffs this year. Ball State will be using him in an athlete and WR."

The 3 year starter at one of Florida's top programs has posted some very impressive numbers along the way.

"He is an outstanding ball player," Lee said. "He has passed for over 4,600 yards and 40 tds in his career so far."

Stay tuned to BallStateInsider.com as we track Derald's senior season and his recruiting journey.
