In an ongoing effort to help football widows cope with the weekly loss of their husbands, Ball State ran it’s annual Women’s Football Academy this past Saturday to overwhelming success.

The Ball State University football coaching staff held its second annual women's football academy Saturday, June 14 at Scheumann Stadium.

The event was designed to benefit The Cancer Center at Ball Memorial Hospital. Each participant also received a women's football academy t-shirt and gift bag.

The academy drew 78 women to Scheumann Stadium where head football coach Brady Hoke and his staff taught them everything they needed to know about football and prepared them for the upcoming season.

"The academy was a great success for a great cause," said Hoke. "It was neat to see the tremendous support we got from the women who participated in the academy and we look forward to a bigger and better academy next year."
