Hammonds First FBS Offer is Ball State

The Louisville athlete was offered as a defensive prospect.

The Ball State camp was pretty productive one for Sean Hammonds. The Louisville Ballard TE/DE had a solid performance at camp and ended up picking up his first FBS level offer from the Cardinals.

"It feels great," Hammonds said of the offer. "I just have to thank God for the blessing and opportunity. The Camp experience was really great. They have a very great coaching staff at Ball State. The coaches told me after the camp that Coach (Pete) Lembo wanted to talk to me. He was in his office and he offered me. We had a nice conversation."

Hammonds, who has largely been reported as receiving interest as a TE, is being projected at a different position by Ball State.

"Defense," Hammonds said. "They offered me as a hybrid player, like a DE and OLB. I want to play defense in college."

Aside from his most recent offer and the offers he picked up in the spring from Morehead State and Tennessee State, Hammonds has high hopes for some offers from BCS level schools that have been looking at him recently.

" I think Illinois and Purdue are close," he said. "I had good days at their camp as well."
