Ball State Gives Lembo Raise, Extension

Lembo now Head Coach & Associate Athletic Director

Fresh off the heals of a third successful season at the helm of the Ball State Football Program, Head Coach Pete Lembo has been given a contract extension, raise and also a new title from the University's Board of Trustees.

Ball State inked Lembo to a new contract extension that will now run until 2019 and will increase his base salary from $396,000 to $475,000 a year.

Along with the extension and raise, the Trustees also added to Lembo's title promoting him to Head Football Coach and Assocaite Athletic Director.

Lembo, who was a target of at least two BCS level openings last year, is now 25-13 in his three years in Muncie. In his tenure at Ball State, Lembo has been successful in increasing the Cardinals win total from 6-6 in his first year to 9-4 in 2012 and then 10-3 this past season. He is now 104-49 as a head coach in 13 years with the Cardinals, Elon and Lehigh.

The Ball State Board of Trustees also approved a pay raise for assistant coach Joey Lynch. The former Cardinal QB was promoted prior to the GoDaddy Bowl from Tight Ends Coach/Recruiting Coordinator to Offensive Coordinator.
