Cardinal Commits Playing for Championships

The Ball State Football Recruiting class of 2014 will be well represented in 3 different states' championship games.

This weekend will see 4 different Ball State recruits leading their teams into battle in playoff matchups with 3 playing for a state championship in 2 different states.

Headlining the list is Ikeem Allen and his 17th nationally ranked Mallard Creek teammates who will do battle with Northwest Guliford in the North Carolina Class 4AA tournament where they will be playing for the Quadrant 4 championship and a birth in the Final 4..

Mallard Creek stands 13-0 after topping Providence 42-27 last week to move to the Quadrant's championship game.

In Michigan, OT Malik King and Muskegon (12-1) will take on Brother Rice for the Division 2 title. Muskegon topped Portage Central 41-35 on Saturday to advance to the state championship contest.

In Indiana, future Ball State teammates Devin Reece and Zach Saum will battle each other in the Class 5A Championship Game. Reece leads the 12-1 and #1 ranked Westfield Shamrocks into the title game against Zach Saum and the 9-5 and #2 ranked Indianapolis Cathedral Irish.

Westfield advanced to the state title game with a 35-3 thumping of Elkhart Concord, while Cathedral topped Terre Haute North Vigo 42-20.
