MADISON - With Wisconsin already having one wide receiver commit in Walnut Ridge (OH.) senior Rob Wheelwright, the Badgers are looking to possibly add one more.
Wisconsin had many visitors for its division match up against Ohio State and one of them happened to be from Columbus in senior wide out Zach Yousey. Yousey has been a sleeper prospect with mainly MAC offers, but one school that might be that break through offer could come from the Badgers.
"The game was pretty awesome, especially with it being as close as it was," Yousey told Badger Nation. "My coach, before I found out that I going to the game, was talking the ‘Jump Around.' I never really understood what it was because I had never been there, but that was probably the most exciting part was the ‘Jump Around' and seeing the fans. The game alone was probably one of the best games I have been to this year. I really enjoyed myself.
"I didn't get to jump because I was trying to record it", Yousey added with a chuckle. "I was trying to get that whole atmosphere into my phone."
Although Wisconsin stuck with its formula of running the football, Yousey was impressed with the amount of plays the Badgers ran through the air, utilizing both its wide receivers and tight ends.
"They like to throw the ball a lot more than I expected with (Montee) Ball being there. That was a big plus since my primary position is wide receiver. That definitely was a big plus. The kickoff return was really good too. If I do get an offer from them, then they will give me an opportunity to do that."
Yousey currently holds offers from Eastern Michigan, Bowling Green, Toledo, Eastern Illinois, Ball State, Ohio and Miami (OH.). Although he doesn't having a BCS offer, Yousey has been getting plenty of interest from programs like Ohio State, Tennessee and West Virginia. In terms of Wisconsin, Yousey's conversation with the coaching staff has him excited for the potential.
"They said the chances they offer is very high right now," Yousey said. "They told me to just have patience because they are only taking two wide receivers and they already have one. It is very crucial for them to make sure that they get someone that is the right fit.
"If they did offer me, it is definitely high that I could commit, but I would definitely have to look at the whole picture, especially with it being so far away, and it would have to be a very thought out decision."
After Thanksgiving, Yousey plans on going to Bowling Green, taking an official visit December 1 to Toledo and returning to Bowling Green on an official visit December 7. He also plans on visiting Miami (OH).
After having an impressive visit to Madison and getting to experience the atmosphere of a game day, where did Wisconsin fall on Yousey's leader board?
"This visit definitely put Wisconsin in my top three because they are an awesome school, awesome football team, but they haven't exactly offered me yet, so I don't have a certain spot in my top three for them," said Yousey. "Ohio State is also in my top three along with Toledo. I do know that Wisconsin is in my top three for sure."
