Ball State added the first 4 newcomers to the Class of 2012 on Tuesday with the addition of two defensive ends and two safeties.
DE Osa Igbinosun, S Selwyn Frazier & S Chris Pauling, all enrolled for the spring semester at Ball State while former player Matthew Mosely returns from a redshirt year spent focusing on his academics.
Igbinosun, a 6-1 250 DE, spent the past season at Fork Union Military Academy after graduating from Rahway, NJ where he posted 12 sacks, 16 tackles-for-loss and 98 total tackles as a senior.
Frazier, a 6-2 205 junior college transfer from Independence Community College, ranked second on his team with 63 tackles and was named all-Jayhawk Conference as a Sophomore.
Pauling, a 5-11 175 S from Andrews High School in High Point, NC, managed 86 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and blocked a punt as a senior.
Mosley, a 6-2 235 DE, played in all 12 games as a freshman in 2010 for Ball State. Mosley posted 13 tackles that season.
Morris suspended for Academics
Ball State also received bad news on Tuesday when it was reported by The Muncie Star Press that OLB Aaron Morris was ruled academically ineligible. Morris, a sophomore last season, was second on the team with 115 tackles in 2011.
