Ball State adds commit from North Carolina

Ball State picked up its 14th verbal commitment for the Class of 2012 from a Safety from North Carolina.

After starting its recruiting class with a local flavor, Ball State has started tapping the South for its last few commits.

The last three verbal commitments have all come from southern states, including the last one coming from Coach Pete Lembo's backyard, Chris Pauling, a 5-11 175 S from Andrews High School in High Point, NC.

"I got up there on a visit," Pauling said. "I really liked the atmosphere up there and their coaches and players."

Pauling, who is helping lead his Andrews High School team to a 4-0 record, chose Ball State over an offer from Wofford and interest from several regional teams including North Carolina State.

As for what Cardinal fans can expect from Pauling: "I'm a hard hitter. I like to hit people."
