The 5-10 170 speedy DB/WR from Orrville, OH, who has been clocked at 4.41 in the 40 and finished 5th in the 100 meter dash at the Ohio High School State Track and Field meet, recently became the 11th verbal commitment for Coach Pete Lembo and the Ball State Cardinals.
"I really liked the campus," Turner said. "And the coaches are great, it seems like a great place to play."
Although the Cardinals are keeping their options open on his position, Turner clearly has the speed to play on either side of the ball.
"They are recruiting me for both WR & DB," Turner said. "It is pretty much up to me on where I end up."
Turner, who chose Ball State over an offer from Toledo, has been equally prolific as a wide receiver, defensive back and kick returner for Orrville during his prep career.
With a 2-0 record out of the gate and his college choice out of the way, Turner can now focus solely on the mission at hand for Orrville, a run deep into the state playoffs.
"If we work hard and do things right," Turner said. "We can do good thing and go deep in the playoffs."
