Tennessee FB transferring to Ball State

Ball State picked up its second transfer from a BCS school this summer and third since the hiring of Pete Lembo.

BallStateInsider.com has learned that former University of Tennessee FB Toney Williams will be transferring to Ball State to play football.

Williams, a 6-0 220 Sophomore, will sit out this season per NCAA Transfer rules and will have two seasons left to compete, starting in 2012.

The talented FB ran for just 11 yards on five carries last season after coming off ACL surgery.

Williams joins former Ohio State Buckeye LB Jonathan Newsome as transfers to the Cardinals program this summer. Newsome, who played in every game a season ago and collected 15 tackles for the Buckeyes, was present for Wednesday evening's Fan Jam event at Ball State.

Joining the pair of summer transfers is TE Dylan Curry who transferred in from Louisville over the winter.
